JimBaumerME bio:
Jim Baumer, the creative force behind the one-man indie-rock outfit JimBaumerME, channeled the pain from losing his son, well-known poet and environmental activist, Mark Baumer, into songwriting and lo-fi rock.
Using songwriting as a pathway towards emotional healing, while drawing on his longtime affinity for mid-90s lo-fi rock played by bands like Guided by Voice, Swearing at Motorists, and Dinosaur Jr., Baumer began recording tracks of his own, utilizing a drum pedal, electric and acoustic guitars, and populist-fueled songs.
Maine-based music critic Aimsel Ponti, about Baumer’s first EP called All You Stupid Sheep wrote, “With some fuzzy guitar, some grungy, lo-fi sensibility and leaving-it-all-on-the-field lyrics, Baumer makes his mark with songs like “Living in this World,” The Pain of Life,” and one that takes aim at former President Trump called “National Disgrace.” Baumer has since released two follow-up full-lengths, Living in Some Strange Days (2021) and Home Sweet Home (2023). He’s also relocated from his native New England to the Blue Ridge Mountains of Central Virginia.
